mpu11 and sd drives

Post by 77randyc »

Is the mpu11 compatable with Centroids "SD" ac Drives. The mpu11 seems to have only 6 fiber optics while the cpu10 board uses 7.

Also does the cnc11 software work with the "SD" drives. The demo copy i have does not have an ac drive menu to set up ac drives,(CNC9.hex file).

Thanks,
Randy

Randy,

The MPU11 does not currently support the Centroid SD drives. Other than to say that it has been discussed and that support may be added in the future, I can't give you a timeline or say with any certaintly that support for the SD drives will be added.

Scott,
Thanks for the reply.
One more question on this subject, using a three axis mill w/rotory tilt table for 5axis how much faster/better would a system using CNC10 board and sd3/sd1 w/ 1kw ac servos
be compaired to a system using mpu11 board and DC1 w/ 29inlb (or 40inlb) dc servos on the same machine.

Thanks for your input:
Randy
