Hello all,
I am looking for some info and advice.
Can I go directly to using CNC11 V3.16 with my setup or do I need to install an older version first?
ScreenShot002.JPG
I downloaded most of what I think I need but can not find the older install manual. Is it on the website somewhere I have not seen or can someone provide me a PDF of it?
The Virtual panel is now mentioned all over the web site, how do I make use of it? Will it be part of a new CNC11 release? The Acorn page says CNC12 is only for Acorn.
Does anyone have a simple way to sequence the PC with the MPU11 start so the hole thing comes up and goes down gracefully when I turn the main power on and off?
Any and all advice to avoid common mistakes and adhere to best practice is more than welcome, I am all ears.

So it took me a lot longer to get to this point than anticipated as life kicked my but for a while. But here is where I am at. Machine is stripped, servos have tachs removed/encoders installed, I bought a VFD, a MPG, a servo PS and all my stuff is on the bench for a full bench test. The other day I had some luck; I found an 24" HP all-in-one touch screen in someones garbage! I got it to boot and run. Until the display failed as it was cracked. (tease!) Rather than be deterred I did some research and built a mini-ITX PC with the guts of the HP (i7,3.4Ghz, 4Gb ram, 120Gb SSD) I also bought a touch screen, the Asus is a nice monitor, thanks Marty for the recommendation.

Based on your Key-A number the last version of software we know you were running was 3.04. So you would need to run 3.06 once (the software needs to communicate with the control) and than install 3.16. Current MPU11 based controls will be supported in CNC12 in the near future. That will include the Virtual Control Panel.

If you have the PC on the same circuit as machine power you can set it up in the PC bios to power on when it detects AC on (when you flip the machine switch on). From the software you can turn off the PC but there is no way to turn off your machine from the software. Just shut down the PC and than flip the switch to machine power to off.

I have sent you the DC3IOB install manual via private message.

Link to 3.06

http://www.centroidcnc.com/downloads/so ... v306-D.zip

Install this first and run in it. Do NOT install a PLC when asked. It must initialize the MPU11 at least once before you can upgrade to v3.16.

Now install 3.16 link below:

Do NOT install a PLC program when asked.
