Error Retrieving MPU Serial Number

Post by Dlab77@aol.com »

My CNC11Mill program began to run very slowly taking 10 seconds just to set a zero point on an axis while setting up a part. To fix it I shut down CNC11Mill and restarted the computer. When I tried to load CNC11Mill it took 10 minutes for CNC11Mill to tell me "Error retrieving MPU serial number". How do I get CNC11Mill to recognize my serial number?

Thanks.

David,

I would try re-installing the CNC11 software to see if it fixes the issue. The "Error retrieving MPU11 serial number" message sounds like there may be internal damage done to the ALLIN1DC. If you continue to get that message after re-installing the CNC11 software, then the ALLIN1DC will need to be repaired or replaced.
When requesting support, please ALWAYS post a current report. Find out how to take a report from your Acorn, CNC11 or CNC10 system here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ecvg0VJp1oQ.

If your question is PLC, Macro or program related, please also post a copy of the program or macro as well.

Without the above information we may not be able to help and/or reply until the required information is posted..

OK, dumb question. I do not want to have to replace a $2500 ALLIN1DC.

So, I shut everything down including ALLIN1DC. Restarting and running just installed CNC11 gave me these responses:

ALLIN1DC 2.jpg
ALLIN1DC 1.jpg
In case the screen shots did not come through, the last message was:

MACHINE SETUP NOT COMPLETED

MACHINE IS NOT READY TO RUN

CONTACT YOUR DEALER.

What is my next move?

Thanks.

David,

It looks as though your ALLIN1DC is communicating correctly. You may be able to simply restore your configuration(s) from a report file and be back up and running.

To restore from a report, Press F7-Utility->F2-Restore Report and navigate to the directory and/or usb stick where you have the report.zip stored and press F10-Accept.

Note: Depending on when you inserted your usb drive, you may need to press F5-Refresh after inserting it in order to see it on the screen.

Scott,

I went through the steps you suggested. After I highlighted report.zip and pressed F-10 it told me to power down.

I powered down and this is what came up after I tried to reset the Stall Error:

I tried to move the x axis and got this:

Scott,

OK, I tried running the System Test. I figured out that my password is "137", but when I pressed Cycle Start I was told: "Demo mode has expired. Contact your dealer to purchase permanent unlock key"

Can't you give me the unlock key?
