Now the fun begins

Post by cranky35 »

Okay I have searched the discussion board and it seems as if I might be the only person that has had trouble with bench testing my new allin1dc board
So following the directions I changed all the parameters as directed, I have checked and double checked them and everything seems right
I went into pid and disabled stall detection
I jumped a 12volt DC from a separate power supply to the estop and common, as instructed, (well almost I did put in a toggle switch to simulate a estop button
and pulled the bottom 6 dip switches upward for the drive axis's
when I powered everything up and went into the real time I/O screen the first 6 inputs were lit just like the instructions 11 was also lit up (yay) but 9 and 10 were dark (boo)

output 1 was not lit. but output 4 was on

when I toggled the dip switches the lights went out as expected. when I toggled my estop button 11 went out

I am getting a spindle error message 9030 I believe but I could be wrong along with a S/W error I believe it was

What did I miss?

Dave,

Output 1, NoFaultOut, will not turn on if you have any errors/faults. Please follow the instructions to disable all faults by inverting inputs and setting the appropriate parameters

I recall that I had found a better set of instructions that way I initially was using? In short: I recall getting something. Maybe on the CD? Anyway, From the manuals site I used the step by step here: Just a quick note.

Okay My bad I was using install directions from the internet instead of the ones from the cd I did the spindle tests and so far so good now to wire up some encoders and test away

Thanks for pointing this out. I will take a look and make sure the install manuals on the CD and website match and are up to date.
