Yahoo..................!!!
Finally decided to just take a day off work and keep at the machine until I at least had 3 axis motion. I had few bumps along the way but finally it all came together this evening and all 3 axis are moving , homed and had the autotune run. A few issues arose that config changes solved but the one issue that really threw me a loop was a sticky Y+ limit switch. X and Z homed ok but when it hit the Y+ it would error off. Turns out the limit switch is a little slow to release and it seems to confuse the home routine. I'll have to take it off the machine and see if I can make it a little more responsive.
After 2 years of looking at this machine sitting idle in my shop is great to see it moving again. Of course I still have loads to do to finish up the job including getting the spindle/VFD wired up and running but it's still a great day to get this far and only have minor solvable issues.
