Pro license file/ induction sensor

Hi there recently bought an acorn board, have it up and running nicely albeit still trying to figure out my 3 induction home switches (mounted to the table and spindle with the contact points on the base for both -+ limits and home) and how to wire them. They are a 4 strand wire IFM branded induction sensor sold by damencnc. I've read through the other topics on the forum but it wasn't of any help. Also I paid for the pro license but never received the license file, not sure if it's meant to be instantaneous or takes time for someone to email it.

If they are truly 4 wire, one connection is normally open and the other is normally closed. You need to make sure you have the correct polarity, and you are using the correct output wire.
What sensor model do you have?

Not enough info to assist. Need make/model of switches and better yet a .pdf with the specs on the sensor.

Hi there thanks for the reply all. Yep new here just converted from the terrible mach3 running a optimum bf20l conversion.

Hope this helps with making it clearer? From that plug the normal sensor is just screwed in which is an induction sensor.

Any word on how we get hold of the license for pro that I paid for still haven't received an email with the file so I can upgrade.

There is nothing in that link other than wire colors. Nothing that gives the electrical characteristics of the sensor. Nothing that explains how to hook it up.

As for your license. Give Centroid sales a call. Keith usually takes care of it but he's traveling. I see he's trying to make a showing. You could send him a Private Message with you info, maybe he'll pick it up.

Usually these sensors are PNP and NPN AND NO and NC, so there is one set of each combo. You need to find which wire (BLK or WHT) that goes the lowest. That's the NPN wire that Acorn wants. Then determine if that connection is NO or NC
Try this...

Wire the sensor up to a 24vdc power supply

BRN = 24v++
BLU = 24v--

Using a multimeter and writing down the voltages
read the voltage as follows with the COM (black) probe on the meter to 24v--
Using the red probe to the white
White with the sensor not triggered
White with the sensor triggered
Black with the sensor not triggered
Black with the sensor triggered

You can connect the red probe to 24++ and make the same tests to be sure
If you post your readings we will set you right. (my guess is white)

You posted a link to the cable not the sensor. If you specify the sensor model we can help with the wiring.

On almost all proximity sensors, the Black wire is the main signal wire, Brown is positive power, Blue is negative. However that's still not enough to wire it correctly. Most sensors use a 4 pole connector and cable but only use 3 wires.
