The wires come into the cabinet and on top there is a rack that holds all the boards. On the right of it sits the three driver boards. the 4 wires go in the bottom of each driver board where the one photo you see it red, green, black and white.
They all stick out of the cabinet on the bottom so you can connect the wires.
It is the same color wires coming in from the steppers. 4 wires red, green , white and black.
I didn't see a picture of the driver boards....? Is there a part number on them? I guess what I am trying to "see" is if the input terminals might be marked step, dir etc. Take standard step and direction input. If so, then Acorn might be able to drive them.

Hopefully we'll here from Marc or Keith. BUT in the mean time, take and post a picture of the driver boards where the stepper motors connect to.

Here is the photo again.
does not say anything about step and direction.

OK. I'm sorry. I see the terminals on the left side.
Yeah, going to have to let the Centroid guys say whether or not there are pins for step/dir inputs....with those connectors on the right side, it will be interesting to hear what they were for. Not holding my breath though....

I think sling everything out of the cabinet except the contractors and the power supply's. Get new driver boards that will work with the steppers. sling the upper cabinet and monitor. Had it running today motor and spindle run nice. No noises even at 4000 RPM .

There are CWD2208, they can carry the amps, but I am unsure of the max voltage output to the stepper motor. I have asked the factory. We'll see what they say. They are pricey though.

Checking it out some more, those CWD2208 will do the trick. They are step and direction. for up to 90V DC.
Have to find a VFD for 220v single in 220 3 phase out for a 3HP motor.
Will look for a 5hp one. To be safe.
I see the price of 168.00 which is not too bad. I see them on Alibaba for 28.00 plus shipping.

No, go to factorymation.com or automationdirect.com look at the TECO VFDs. Not the FM50

No the prices I listed were for the driver boards. Did not start looking for the VFD yet.
I have to order an acorn tonight anyway for a 6040 router I bought. Need a gecko board and a VFD also for it. Just 110V in and 110V out 1.5KW water cooled spindle on it. Will use the driver boards that are in the cabinet. Should be an easy swap over.

Roger that. Post pictures of the builds and a video cutting when they are done!

Looks like cncsnw is correct in that this is an older Centroid stepper control. Are you able to provide a photo of the X axis driver board?
