Can a tool changer that the arm motor that needs to reverse be made to work with allin1. It says in the ATC instructions it will not, is it that the plc will need to be modified? Also I have Toshiba VFD. my machine has a combination of spindle stop with an encoder and a mechanical stop activated with an air cylinder. It also uses all micro switches, no magnetic switches. is uses 6 micro switches (binary) to keep track of the tool drum location.
With all this information can the allin1 be configured to change tool. I know I will have to add the board for more I/O's.

I don't see why not. You won't be able to use the logic that is in the standard swing arm tool changer PLC program as that PLC program is written for a swing arm that only moves in 1 direction. You should be able to control that tool changer with the Centroid control but the PLC program will need to be modified in order to be able to handle your particular tool changer.

Thanks, that the answer I expected. Any idea what it would it cost to have the plc program modified? One other question I have is my encoders are 2550 per revolution. Will they be unusable?

Please email Centroid Tech Support at support@centroidcnc.com an I/O list as well as the behavior of that I/O in order to get an accurate quote on that custom PLC program. Are you sure that encoder count is correct? Typically, in that particular range, encoders are either 2000ppr or 2048ppr which produces either 8000 or 8192 encoder counts per revolution. Are those encoders quadrature differential line driven encoders? If so, they should be OK.

Here are the specs I got from the encoder manufacture. (dynapar)

It seems like those aren't differential encoder signals which if they aren't, it will not work with the Centroid control. Do you have a pinout for those encoders? If so, verify that there are A, /A, B, /B, Z, and /Z signals. If there aren't, you can either purchase new encoders, build a circuit that will convert those signals into differential signals, or purchase the TTL2DIFF board from Centroid for $125. Centroid does offer 2000 line DC encoders for $240. They offer either 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", or 6mm shaft sizes.

Here are the pin outs for my encoders.

I don't see anything that tells me that those encoders wouldn't work with the Centroid hardware.
