Yes, please hook the tachs back up to the drives, and configure the drives for velocity mode. This may involve one or both of the following (Please see your drive documentation for details):
1. Move the analog inputs on the drive to the velocity ref inputs
2. Set the drive(s) velocity mode in parameters
Start with the following settings for the Ajax PID values:
Kd = 0 VERY important
Ka = 0
Kv1 = 25
Kp .01
Ki = .0004

Notice that Tech Bulletin 234 has been updated, and now emphasizes the oscilloscope tuning feature.
Oscilloscope tuning is real time and allows changing of tuning coefficients "on the fly", this makes tuning very convenient.
