x-keys alternative ElGato Stream Deck
was looking at buying the xkeys 24 key board for my lathe. i found another one called the elgato stream deck. its only 15 keys but each key has a lcd screan and you can nest buttons into folders. it does macros and hot keys. does anyone see a reason it would not work? its designed for game streaming...

im guessing by cutting in positive you mean z+. i had this when i first started programming my lathe. are you putting your z values in as negitive numbers?

thank you cnc_smith i changed 240 to .020 and it looks alot better. i will keep decreasing it until i lose steps or get bad results. i will be switching to closed loop steppers at some point.

i am getting my mini lathe up and running for making rc car parts. its a harborfreight 7x10 converted to cnc. running open loop steppers on x and z. i made a program to thread the end of .25 rod with 4mm thread. my problem is that the threader decelerates in z without retracting in x. it makes the e...

you could wire them up in series so either would break the common connection. there is 8 inputs so if you have more open you could set 3 as home and 3 as hard limits

Hi. I'm not totally in the know with all of your hardware, but I can tell you that a $25 OMRON encoder works awesome with the Centroid acorn. Extremely accurate spindle feedback for tapping and threading. I'm curious about this encoder. Only place I found it for $25 was on eBay from a Chinese vendo...

Lathe/Mill pro software is listed at 99$ on the compare software page on centroidcnc.com but 139$ in the store.

threading without lathe pro
i saw it said threading is locking in the free version of the software. is that just in conversational or will imported g code threading work. i plan on buying the pro version soon but waiting till i get all the kinks worked out of my mini lathe conversion. (thanks Franco cnc)
