Re: Spindle direction

Thanks ... So is that done by one (or two) of the 8x configurable outputs on acorn board by setting one of the output to switch on on command m3 and switch off on m4 or other way around?
You should have those set as defaults but yes, you can configure them manually if needed.

Re: Spindle direction

M3 command closes the relay that tells the drive to rotate forward. M4 closes the relay that tells the drive to rotate in reverse. M5 is stop. (both relays open) This is a basic two relay setup, there are other ways to go forward or reverse but all done by a VFD or Servo. All spindle motion is contr...

Re: Acorn + Clearpath success stories?

I count 11 resistors in the pictures!

Should be 2 on X, 2 on Y and 2 on Z. Step and direction only!

Re: Teknic Power4-Hub

Maybe Teknic could offer up “cable kits” for those of us who are the DIY type. A bag of connectors and pins for each cable and you order the length of cable you need. A simple diagram is all you need to make your own cables. It’s really not rocket science after all. That would be of great help! Dav...

Re: Acorn+ClearPath Servos - Axis Fault during Home

Ok, I studied the Power Point pictures as best I could. Like Marty said, hard to zoom in for detail but I did pick up on one thing that may make sense. You can jog two motors with no issue. Is that correct? (Enable stays green on the CP motors) When you jog the third motor you get a "drive faul...

Re: More questions about Acorn and pulling the trigger today

1) Assuming I have enough inputs, is it possible to use joysticks for jogging? There was a time when I had Mach 3 that I thought I wanted a joystick as well. With Acorns VCP (virtual control panel on screen) you'll find it very easy to move your machine around or actually machine with manual moves....

Re: Acorn+ClearPath Servos - Axis Fault during Home

I'll use C86ACCP on any future Clearpath builds. It takes care of all of that and no external relay board to deal with. The Power4-hub is a good value at $49 from Teknic too. I'm trying to talk them into a terminal block version. Not sure how well that will go.... Thanks for the input. I may rework...

Re: Acorn+ClearPath Servos - Axis Fault during Home

When you try and jog one axis before Homing or using MDI, CNC12 will enable that axis, try and jog another axis, it will generally enable that axis. Take a look at the drive enable LED's on Acorn when you jog an axis after starting CNC12. Should be as I described. Keep in mind, I have not hardwired...
