OAK Analog Ground
Pages 9 and 11 of the Oak manual shows Analog I/O being referenced to Analog Ground, however the Axis Headers do not have a Analog Ground pin. So, where to I reference the Axis Header signals Analog In and Analog Request? Do I use +24V Return or +5V Return? In appendix C, the Yaskawa Sigma V cable s...

Re: OAK and Handwheels
I just wanted to confirm and document that using the Oak AXIS3/4 as encoder inputs pulling 5V power from the PLCADD connectors works without issue. The PLCADD connector housings are JST #PADP-12V-1-S and the crimp terminals are JST #SPH-001T-P0.5L, and the AXIS connector housings are JST #PUDP-30V-S...

Re: Is positioning mode or torque mode better?
CNCSNW, I don't know why I didn't notice that. I had originally intended to hook it up in velocity mode and noticed the microflex drive had multiple modes and I remember seeing the Oak board had multiple modes, just didn't bother to check if the multiple modes matched. Sorry for wasting your time. I...

Is positioning mode or torque mode better?
I have two ABB Microflex drives and motors that I will be connecting to an Oak controller on a small Hardinge lathe. The Microflex can run in positioning (step/dir) , torque/current (0-10V), or velocity (0-10V) modes. Which mode will give me the better results? Will it make a difference if in the fu...

Re: New AjaxCNC Tech Bulletins added 3-18-13
Thanks, Keith. Can't wait to see the new Centroid DIY website. My Oak board should be here soon and I'm looking forward to jumping in.

Re: OAK and Handwheels
CNCSNW, I was thinking of using the PLCADD connectors for picking up +5V, not for using them for the intended purpose of adding an expansion board I'll just figure out the mating connector when my OAK board arrives. I did not realize I could use the MPG encoder inputs. Would you mind sharing your OA...

Re: OAK and Handwheels
The PLCADD connectors are a perfect place to pick up +5V for the AXIS3/4 handwheel encoders. Do you have mating connector and pin part numbers for the PLCADD board connectors?

Re: OAK and Handwheels
Ajax_Tech,
Thanks for the info - that saves me $400!!
The OAK install manual only goes up to chap 6, so I'm assuming you are referring to the T-Series Operator's manual chapter on Configuration. That's my current bedtime reading

Re: New AjaxCNC Tech Bulletins added 3-18-13
Is there an updated list somewhere? This stops back in 2013 and I have TSB 296 on setting up a spindle load meter so there are quite a few missing.
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Circuit Board Manuals, Install Manuals, Operator Manuals
Is there an OAK velocity mode install manual like the one for the MPU11/GPIO4D?
