Re: Contactor connections? Noark Ex9CD
Just mount the contactor upside down on the DIN rail. L is the Line side and T (Terminus) is the load side, they are labeled for a reason. I only see one A1 and one A2 in the pic on the data sheet. Wire the coil through relay 1 and set it to “NoFaultOut” and the Acorn will control the contactor for...

Contactor connections? Noark Ex9CD
I have a Noark Ex9CD S18A3010 and have a few questions about the reason for (2) A2 connections one on top, one below it on the bottom. I get the same results (in bench testing, no other connections) regardless so I am guessing they are the same? Link to the data sheet. https://na.noark-electric.com/...

Sorry I did mention the macro. Here it is. Re: UMC10 from Flashcut to Acorn?
Marty, in the original cabinet as you see in this bottom pic. There are 2 relays that go to the VFD (I am guessing FWD/REV). Though I am sure they are nice units, is there any reason to use them? I mean the Ethernet 1616 can duplicate their role I am sure and I could clean up the cabinet a little mo...

Re: UMC10 from Flashcut to Acorn?
Just a little progress and a test fit of the back panel.
Got all the boards on standoffs.
Set up the contactor for the switched side and din rails for both switched and unswitched.
Dont mind the existing wires, those will be cleaned up.

Re: Contactor and limit switches
If you use a contactor with a 120v coil, this would bring mains power to the estop which I personally dont think is safe. 120VAC is perfectly fine in an E-Stop button under NFPA 79:2007 9.1.2 Control Circuit Voltages [for people in the USA] p1.PNG p2.PNG Though I am sure it is legally, it seems to ...

Re: Schematic templates available?
I am getting ready to document my Acorn/Ether1616/Avid/Clearpath build on my YouTube channel, and people are already asking me for schematics. Is there a standard template available that I can use to draw them up? I see that all of the schematics on the web site use common components, but I didn't ...

Re: Contactor and limit switches
What is the machine voltage? My understanding is that a 3 pole would allow both the hot and neutral thru (ground never goes thru the contactor as you dont want that circuit broken, ever) and still allows 1 set of contacts for any other use like signalling Acorn. Though I would like to see confirmati...
