Re: Weird behavior with Scales/Backlash
The entire concept of having the linear scale feedback is that the linear scale will tell the control exactly where the location of the table is without the control having to take any backlash or screw compensation into account. That means that if you are using linear scales as a dual feedback, whic...

Re: Automatic gear range selection
Is it possible to tell the Acorn that the encoder is measuring the motor speed rather than the spindle speed? No. That is why we always tell everyone that the spindle encoder has to be geared 1-to-1 with the spindle. The Centroid control needs to know what the spindle is doing not the spindle motor...

Re: Router touch off plate questions
With the Digitizing Bundle, the inside and outside corner cycles are included. I have attached a photo that lists this on the main ACORN website http://www.centroidcnc.com//centroid_di ... oller.html.

Re: No movement - HELP!!!!
I can't say for based on those photos but what voltage are you wiring to PUL, DIR+, and ENA+? I am assuming that it's 24VDC since you are the open collector terminals of the ACORN, correct? If so, page 6 of the manual for that drive shows a diagram depicting that a 2kohm resistor is to be installed ...

Re: Spindle speed control
It definitely sounds like there is a leakage path somewhere where it's feeding voltage into that system. That explains the 5mV or 0.005V. Since your maximum spindle speed is set to 24000, 5mV will produce the 120rpm which is what you are seeing. The Centroid isn't commanding it but since you have a ...

Re: Gecko 320 Servodrive ERR/RES hardware solution
It would have been helpful if you posted a current report from the system but if you are using the Flood Coolant button on the jog panel to control that output, you should also be able to use the Flood Coolant macro, M8. There is already logic in the mfunc8.mac file as the logic is coolant related s...

Re: M40 tapping
Please email a current report as well as a configuration backup of that system as explained in the CNC7 section of the attached tech bulletin to support@centroidcnc.com. I am assuming that as old as that system is, you are most likely running CNC7 which is a DOS based control. If you are running CNC...

Re: Spindle speed control
The voltages are close to what they are supposed to be but I am wondering if there is a leak path somewhere that is giving that additional ~0.1V. Try disconnecting the analog wires to the inverter and verify the voltage coming out of the ACORN. At the speeds that I asked you to command, you should b...

Re: Spindle speed control
Looking at your report, you have a Maximum Spindle Speed set to 24000 and a Minimum Spindle Speed in high range set to 600 but you don't have an input designated as your High/Low spindle gear range. If you don't have that input wired, set the Minimum Spindle Speed to 0. Make sure that the spindle is...

Re: How to connect a TouchPlate and a ToolSetter at the same time
The ProbeDetect signal is exactly what it means. It is a detect signal that is set once a probe is connected. The Centroid control can also use a detect signal for the tool touch-off device. It should also be set when the tool touch-off device is connected. The Centroid control allows different inpu...
