Re: Oak MPG wiring discrepancy in schematics

1- If you are using an MPG that Centroid supplied, the pinout of the MPG cable that we offer which is on the schematics is correct. If you are using your own MPG then you would follow the pinout that is in the manual. 2- You are correct. Those inputs are pulled to 5VDC COM a.k.a +5V Return when they...

Re: ATC Macro / PLC Help please <success!>

Please post a current report from your system. You should not need to "unwind" a turret axis. Performing a tool change in MDI should be exactly the same as when running it from a program. Please also provide a copy of the program that you are running.

Re: Branch Commands

Yes. Chapter 11 of the attached manual goes over that. Even though the manual is for CNC11, it is very similar to the CNC12 software.

Re: Need a little Macro Help.....

You are doing everything correctly. In order to be able to use Macro1 thru Macro4 buttons on the wireless MPG, AUX5 thru AUX8 functionality had to be used. The attached PLC program has it where when you press the Macro1 button on the wireless MPG, it will behave the same way as if you pressed the AU...

Re: Tree J325 CNC DIY upgrade, Spindle DRO and Mister

If you are only using that encoder for an accurate display of the spindle speed than you should be able to use the encoder that is mounted onto that spindle motor. If you are planning on using Rigid Tapping, that encoder will not work for. I am also assuming that this machine does not have an automa...

Re: Tree J325 CNC DIY upgrade, Spindle DRO and Mister

Is there physically an encoder installed on that machine that is geared 1-to-1 with the spindle? Based on the photo that you posted, there is no spindle encoder feedback connected to the PC similar to the axis encoder feedback cables. If there isn't a spindle encoder installed on that system, then p...

Re: Tree J325 CNC DIY upgrade, Spindle DRO and Mister

The spindle control to the VFD is via the DC3IO. The PC sends the information down to the DC3IO and the DC3IO turns on the desired outputs to the VFD as well as the analog speed request. The analog speed request is an open loop system based on the commanded spindle speed. Let's say that you have the...

Re: help with control change alarm 343

Since it's a laptop, I would check the Hibernating settings as it sounds like the laptop is going into a Hibernation mode and you pressing a key on the keyboard is waking it up.

Re: Tree J325 CNC DIY upgrade, Spindle DRO and Mister

Looking at your photo, there isn't a spindle encoder connected to the PC so setting parameter 35 to anything will not do anything. Please verify that you actually have a spindle encoder that is geared 1-to-1 with the spindle on the machine. If you do, there should be a cable from that encoder that s...

Re: Tree J325 CNC DIY upgrade, Spindle DRO and Mister

Having parameter 35 set to 5 makes no sense for your system as that tells the control that the spindle encoder is installed onto the 6th encoder port which is on an SD3. The SD3 is an AC system and your system is a DC system. If your spindle encoder is physically connected to the 4th encoder input, ...
