U tube videos by centroid
Please keep the videos coming keith. Could you do a more in depth one on measuring ALL types of tools with an auto tool touch off compared to manual. I've read the manual but still feel like i'm missing something, a moving picture speaks a million words!

Re: Offset problems (I think!)
I'm on a cnc lathe with this but yes, I make sure the ref tool is part zeroed. Which as I said before, can MDI in and out of and physically remove the ref tool and it is never wrong. It repeats, the others don't...

Re: Offset problems (I think!)
Just to clarify, I have set every tool with the auto tool setter (also done manually as per Keith's method) I then go into MDI and go through every tool on a part and they are all out by varying amounts. The only one (which has been taken in and out of the Dickson tool holder) that is spot on is the...

Re: Offset problems (I think!)
Just got back from holiday, so sorry for delayed reply. Will make a collet holder, thanks. Yes, mm/rev are all good, followed marty's video for measuring and adjusting accurately. There is 0.014mm backlash on X axis. I have tried putting this figure into backlash comp, still getting the same wacky r...

Offset problems (I think!)

Then go into MDI and start changing tools - all tools except the reference tool are not where they should be in relation to the part/centre line. They are all o...

Re: closed loop with Acorn 6 and a linear scale
I'd love to get to that level of accuracy, but just can't afford an A6 just now, have recently purchased another acorn.

Re: Auto tool setting
Yes, when I use mine- it does need 'dialling in' each time really. Still for fifty quid, it's not bad.
Are we thinking the T6 is better/more accurate?
