Re: Small mill limit home both??

You can put one limit switch on each axis and go with that. You don't "need" switches on each end of the axis. Soft limits will "generally" provide what you need.

Re: DURApulse GS21-23P0 VFD?

Is 'S14983 ACORN_rev4, GENERIC VFD' the best sheet to follow to setup this VFD with an Acorn 4 or is there a better one? Did you get your VFD going? Most VFD's are typically wired. The generic schematic should get you going in the right direction. Just pay attention to programming the Parameters in...

Re: Tree Journeyman 425 mill retrofit

Installed the replacement 1.3kW servo motor from DMM. I’ve ran the same program that I was having issues with, without a tool and the spindle stopped. It runs great, with faster rapids. This machine is finally where it should be. It’s unfortunate they have so many quality issues that make it past w...

Re: Tree Journeyman 425 mill retrofit

DMM agreed to replace the motor. They wouldn’t ship until my motor made it back to them. Took the USPS two weeks to get the motor to DMM. They shipped the replacement the next day. I again want to emphasize they have been great from a customer service perspective and have done right by me after the...

Oscar, you should post a video of that machine operating and doing a tool change and then you do a video showing your switch locations and what each does.

Re: Stepperonline CL86T with Acorn

Shawn and Tom both answered the question very well. Nothing to add here! Marty Didn't mean to steal your thunder Marty. :D I just wanted to point out that the 5V drive DOES still require a resistor if using 24 volts, it just doesn't need to be installed by the builder, it's inside the drive already...

Re: New Build: SYIL X4 CNC Mill, Clearpath SDSK, C86ACCP & Centroid Acorn

There is a no fault input that needs to be shorted on C86ACCP. On contact on the Estop relay dies that Yes there is. It comes shorted from CNC4PC. I'm sure they (Centroid) have schematics, but I have chosen to simplify the wiring on my builds because adding that portion complicates the process and ...

Re: New Build: SYIL X4 CNC Mill, Clearpath SDSK, C86ACCP & Centroid Acorn

You need three normally open contacts in your estop contactor. 1 breaks the VFD Common 1 breaks power to your IPC-5 1 closes the NO Fault input to C86ACCP My version is similar but has a couple differences: 1) If the VFD is 230vac (1ph), then both hot legs should be broken by the contactor 2) If th...
