It's a 20 year old Boston Gear /Fincor / Ace KL inverter.
Just tried to start with the inverter on had a failure, turned the vfd off and was able to start fine.
Axis motors are working and don't seem to affect the startup.

Re: Anomalous Behavior of Beagle Bone Green on Acorn Board with separate power supplies
Follow up on this issue. I have been having an intermittent failure to turn on but don't quite fit the profile since I have one of those Leadwell dual PS. Following a hint on the Hobby Machinist BB, I removed power from my VFC before turning on the Acorn and got it to boot. Looks like anything conne...

Re: Gecko G320x Acorn
Marty, All - I bought one of the relay boards Marty mentioned, the 4 relay version since it was only $2 more. No joy, after messing with it for a while. It it not really a "trigger", but it will turn on with either a 0 voltage or a 5 vdc input according to the jumper setting. The G320 erro...

John -
I am not the first poster, but yes my G320 setup works fine, jogs, and runs a program.

Re: Gecko G320x Acorn
That looks like it might work and is certainly cheap enough. Thanks for the idea.

Re: Gecko G320x Acorn
Marty, All - While on the subject of the geckodrive g320, I would like to tie the error signal into the Acorn and am not sure how to do it. I think that the inputs are at 24 vdc as I am set up now and change state when grounded. Is there a way to hook this up in a simple way other than some transist...

Re: Gecko G320x Acorn
Hmaxey - I have some geckodrive G320s running so that the step and direction lines are wired like the G201 schematic (Drawing S14089). Basically give the "common" 5 vdc and run the step and direction lines to the acorn. The "common" nomenclature has been a source of confusion for...

Re: Tool Changing for spindles without tool holders.
Dave - I have a similar machine I converted years ago. You are doing a super job, much better than what I have done. I move the knee on mine, which has the advantage of 13 or so inches of z travel and no cranking. I put a 4 inch or so 3mm pitch pulley on the screw, as close to the bevel gear as I co...

Yes, I am not using that relay and have the schematic.

Re: Acorn suddenly having issue turning on.
Marty - Sorry, too many threads on this. I am one of the people reporting this issue, I had an acorn fail to turn on and got it running from a hint about 5VDC power in another thread. I disconnected the 5 v from my little Meanwell PS and the acorn started fine and is turning on properly at this time...
