Hello Pete
I have been wondering about this myself , and I think you have great idea. It would be very helpful if you were to share that Acorn template , I myself would like to try it out as well as the program is there a link to the CAD program you are using.

Re: 24V DC to 5V DC Power converter - Is it OK to use?
Please do not forget that the driver inputs are all using optoisolators. They already have a current limiting resistor on the driver, and is relatively simple to get or determine the current draw via a quick test with a 5v supply, from the specs of the driver, or just look at the opto being used an...

Re: 24V DC to 5V DC Power converter - Is it OK to use?
mikes Yes you can use resistors if the Pulse and Enable and Direction all draw a constant current but you better make sure that is the gospel and the wattage is high enough to dissipate the heat , but if these Drivers do not all draw the same current then according to ohms law the value of the resis...

Re: BBG has died (RESOLVED)
Just a little follow up , after replacing Acorn kit using everything from my original kit but the board, it has worked just fine with new board., Centroidcnc sent me full refund price in 2 or 3 days to my PayPal account so I guess they found the board just as dead as I did. But no problem they just ...

Yes a Ebay buck converter that has the current capability is all you need and use your larger SPS to feed the buck converter.
I have been using mine with no problems at all.

Re: Having Acorn CNC12 do a "run G code from here "
Run, Search.. type in line number There is a bit more to just typing in a line number and off it goes. When you do a Run "G" code from here you must know exactly where X, Y and Z axis are and where they will be so if eg. your Z is going to wind in the part .050" you do not want to ju...

"Macro writing"
Fellas Looking to find how to write a macro to modify the CNC12 screen so I can either add a Spindle Light on/Off or reprogram an AUX button that is already there to do the Spindle Light On/Off? I have searched the forum but have not found anything that helps me. And I have read the CNC11 manual but...

Re: Acorn Setup
DICKEYBIRD You are correct and there is a wealth of knowledge in that manual. I will read over the area that seems to be giving my machine a fit and see if I can resolve why the axis will not move after putting in the limits from the home position. I get no errors just will not move Also I can not s...

You have been great help now if only my Acorn would listen to you . I do not recall seeing on the Centroidcnc website a user manual for Acorn just where is it located?
