Re: DMM AC servo spindle and C axis. Parts ordered!

This is the diagram they sent to me. Haven’t gotten around to trying it out yet. Do you know how to reverse the motor direction? I kinda don’t see how you can given it’s using the 0-10v signal. :? Thanks for that image. It looks like I was correct. My firmware is different than yours. On mine pin 1...

Re: Lathe with stepper motors - limit switch crash

I’m not disagreeing with that. My point was you NEED to set soft limits even if it doesn’t seem to make sense, like for a lathe setup or Z on a mill. Otherwise, you CAN fast jog into the switch and crash. I think the confusion comes from the fact that people think of "home" as a maximum t...

Re: DMM AC servo spindle and C axis. Parts ordered!

Started my bench test wiring for the DYN4 spindle drive.

Can someone double check my encoder connections?

Re: Lathe with stepper motors - limit switch crash

Yes, set your soft limits once motor direction and homing is setup.... Marty, is that correct, or have you seen that to be the case? That the "soft" travel limits will slow down the jog rate. From the All in One DC Installation manual, section 6.11: "Setting software travel limit wil...

Re: Lathe with stepper motors - limit switch crash

However, I learned something...if you don't set travel limits, you WILL crash into your limit switches on rapid jog moves. For some reason, it does not "remember" where the limit switch is...... Yes, set your soft limits once motor direction and homing is setup.... Marty, is that ...

Re: I started a facebook group dedicated to Acorn.

The biggest problem with Facebook is good info gets buried, never to be seen again. Also, it’s a cumbersome interface for stuff you want to reference. I joined to show support but Marty is correct in saying it’s best to keep all the info in one place. I disagree that it should be in one place. I've...

Re: I started a facebook group dedicated to Acorn.

I appreciate the concerns, however, I disagree with them. I will answer questions that I can at both locations, and will always forward everyone to this forum as I have already. There have already been questions here on this forum that have frustrated some. Those that are asking questions, and those...

Re: Feed rate not consistant

I'm using fusion 360 with centroid post. Haven't got to dig into it yet but just noticed when cutting arcs the feed rate doubles. Can you post your g Code file? It there a acorn specific or newer post version out than the stock one in fusion? Not related to acorn per se, Acorn just reads the G Code...

Re: Setting up Auto/Tech hybrid steppers in the Wizard?

I can get 19.5 turns by either setting the driver for 2000 pulses, or the Wizard to 8000. Currently I have the Wizard set at 8K, and am getting a nice, exact 19.5 turns, but why is it different from the other one? They're identical motors, identical drivers, presumably identical encoders. When I ha...
