Re: Continuation of my spindle and C axis quest: Dilemma
Hi Clay, I’m not going to be able to help (naturally  ) but I’ve been wondering the same thing, well sort of. I have a Dyn4 as well and have been puzzling over how to wire it up. Michael at DMM sent me a diagram but it doesn’t seem to address reversing the motor. Can you send me the drawing? I...

Re: Live tool lathe, spindle orientation
Can the Oak controller and CNC software: 1. Do polar coordinates using the spindle drive as a servo, like Fanuc, Siemens, etc. for drilling operations? I do not believe so. I have not been able to make it work using fusion 360. Can the Oak controller and CNC software:2. Do live profile milling usin...

Continuation of my spindle and C axis quest: Dilemma
So as not to go down another rabbit hole. I have not connected anything yet and just trying to sort out how it will work. My current spindle drive(DYN4 with unique firmware) does not have separate forward and reverse input signal. It uses a single pin(PIN14) to switch directions. When the pin is HIG...

Re: Bench testing. Spindle won't turn off
Clay, You made me go out at 9:30pm to FIRE up the bench test rig, fire up the lathe and make you a video. (Video uploading from my smartphone) DO this please: 1: Open wizard, assign output 2 to SPINFWD (remove it from any other output). Set spindle speed minimum to 0 and maxium to 1000rpm in Tab 3 ...

Re: Bench testing. Spindle won't turn off
Thanks everyone for the help.
I believe I explained the situation in a way that everyone thought I was trying to accomplish something, when what I am trying to do is understand what the board itself is doing, and something I don't think it should be doing.
Clay

Re: Bench testing. Spindle won't turn off
What are you trying to do exactly, just command an output? Use the wizard, program output 2 SPINREV Write configuration Start CNC12 Go to MDI enter an M4 s500, press cycle start (ALT-S) you should hear relay 2 click. Put a meter in continuity or ohms mode and measure the continuity across the conta...
