Re: DB9 panel connector
Thanks, Dan. That connector I mentioned keeps all the pin numbers correct, as I assumed. Works great!

Re: Upgrading Tormach PCNC 770 to Acorn
One of the Tormach machines has a very oddball stepper on the Y Axis that contains the thrust bearing for the ballscrew. I can't recall which model has that. They are actually putting Clearpaths on some of the new models. That would be the PCNC440. All 3 motors have the thrust bearing built into th...

Re: The "Ruppe" Test: DMM DYN4 Encoder signals piped into Acorn's Spindle Encoder
That’s very interesting, Marty. I haven’t been hanging out here much lately so wondering if there was a reason for the test? Being a quality servo, wouldn’t you expect no error? I think it would be equally interesting to run the same test at a lower feedrate. On those rapid moves, you can see the en...

Re: Lathe tool tool setter question
Hi Milton,
Do you have a link to that post?
Semi-related question...could one use a tool setter to find X zero when starting up the lathe for the first time of the day? I have an unused Dyn4 but don’t have a motor yet so could go that route but your way might be less expensive.

Re: DMM AC servo spindle and C axis. Parts ordered!
So has DMM finally got a means to use the Dyn4 to drive a spindle without the weird behavior I was seeing a while back? I emailed them many a time and never got a response. Finally gave up on using it for my spindle drive. It worked but just not right.

Re: Fusion 360 mill/turn and turn post processor non-existent! (use Intercon)
Figured out why the offsets weren't in the code...I'm using generic tools that I found in the Fusion tool library and the offsets weren't enabled. Not sure why the first 2 tools worked fine but not the last. Probably because the first 2 tools are very close in length.

Re: Fusion 360 mill/turn and turn post processor non-existent! (use Intercon)
So I finally got around to trying to make a part using Franco’s turning post processor. It seemed to work fine except for one thing. When parting off, the tool went way past the center of the part and seemed like it just wanted to keep going. Stopped the program to avoid a crash. The Fusion simulati...
