Re: Enable pin setting in Wizard?

Okay, HomeAll works, but when you manually trip the switch, there's no message in the window. Thanks, ShawnM, that works but it takes a few tries for the VCP to move out of the way. So it seems to be mostly working now, but the motors were still moving WAY too slow. I had the steps/rev set to 800 as...

Re: Enable pin setting in Wizard?

Okay, I've got it up and running on ver 4.18. The Clearpath motors are moving but they're moving way too slowly to be normal. Something is not right. I'll attach a new report. Also, I have the Z and X axis home switches wired in series. I can't figure out how to get this working. I have Input 1 set ...

Re: Upgrading Tormach PCNC 770 to Acorn

For an encoder, take a look here:
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1944

That seems like the easiest and most elegant solution to me.

Re: Upgrading Tormach PCNC 770 to Acorn

I would have converted my 440 already but the stepper motors are nearly impossible to replace. And Pathpilot, while a nuisance sometimes, is incredibly easy to use. CNC12 isn't too bad, but nowhere near as simple and intuitive. Now that I have an ATC, switching it over to Acorn would be a big chall...

Re: Enable pin setting in Wizard?

Thanks, Keith. I’ll give it a try. However, this was all working prior. I don’t get why it’s not working now. I had planned to get it all going then upgrade to the latest version.

Re: Enable pin setting in Wizard?

No, I was wondering what controls the Enable pins on the Acorn itself. I believe it’s the Drive OK input but not sure.

I honestly don’t understand what the Enable selection does on the advanced tab. I do have them selected. Tried unselecting and that doesn’t work.

Re: Enable pin setting in Wizard?

I've double checked all the wiring and it all looks good. I must be doing something really dumb. Report attached.

Re: Enable pin setting in Wizard?

I have input 5 set to Drive OK and NO. This are the same settings I was using before. The motors are enabled (flashing green LED on motors) until I attempt to jog. Then the LEDs go amber, indicating a fault. If I press the reset button in CNC12, I can clear the fault. I am really confused as to why ...

Enable pin setting in Wizard?

Is there a Wizard setting that controls the EN pins on the Acorn board? I had to swap Acorn boards and now I can't get the Clearpath motors working. I'm using only Step, Direction, and Enable on the Clearpath motors. It was all working prior. I thought I got all the Wizard settings correct, but appa...
