Re: Reversing spindle motor
Thanks, Scott...would have posted a report but I figured it out...operator error, mostly. Thanks, Milton. I got it figured out and seems to be working well. I don’t have the auto/manual/5k pot setup yet because I don’t have a pot on hand. Now that I’ve been using it though, I’m not sure I real...

Re: Having Acorn CNC12 do a "run G code from here "
I just discovered today that when cancelling a program, as you say, it would be nice if the tool moved to some defined position. For me, on the lathe, I would want it to move to my tool change position. Someone told me how to define that position but I don’t know how to make it go there after killin...

Intercon lathe questions
I’m working on a chuck adapter plate and just need to take a skim cut on a portion of the face. I’ll post a pic of my Intercon settings. The problem I’m having is after a facing pass, the tool doesn’t move back in Z for clearance and drags on the part as it moves in X, then it feeds in the Z axis fo...

Re: Reversing spindle motor
Well, I’ve discovered that if I MDI an M03, then the manual spindle control will work. Weird. Anyway, I’ve got the motor under Acorn control now...very cool and quite convenient!

Re: Reversing spindle motor
I changed the Wizard settings like you said and I don’t hear the relays clicking when I use the VCP to switch motor directions. The speed controller is actually not yet wired to the Acorn for reversing...I just have S1 and S2 jumpered right now.
MDI inputs do make the relays click. Strange.

Re: KBCC-R speed controller
Thanks, Milton...that’s awesome! It makes sense to me and is nicely drawn up. If I had to make a drawing, it would be a hand scribbled mess.

Re: Reversing spindle motor
Now that I can open the Wizard, I see that the default settings on the Acorn are using outputs to reverse the spindle. I assume it would still need an external relay to do the actual switching? Where in the Wizard can you configure what turns on the onboard relays? Anyway, seems it would be much eas...

Re: Wizard says firmware updated needed when it is not
Never mind...figured it out. I had turned off the wifi on the CNCPC but had to turn it on recently and Windows must have downloaded an update which then turned my firewall back on. Turned it back off and now the Wizard works.

Reversing spindle motor
I'm unsure on how to wire up the Acorn to my KBCC reversing speed controller. I am using a signal isolator. The controller has 3 pins for motor direction, S1, S2, and S3. If S2 is connected to S1, the motor runs forward. If S2 is connected to S3, it runs in reverse. So, using the Acorn's onboard rel...
