Re: Techno-Isel CPM 3020 router retrofit Limit, E-Stop & Stepper Wiring

Hi Marty, I was talking to Keith while you were making your post - :D He said he would have an engineer take a look at the drawing and make a comment regarding if it's right or wrong. He also said they would be making a drawing showing how to connect a Leadshine type stepper driver because a lot of ...

Re: Techno-Isel CPM 3020 router retrofit Limit, E-Stop & Stepper Wiring

Good Morning Folks,

Is this how the stepper driver should be interfaced with the Acorn?

Re: Techno-Isel CPM 3020 router retrofit Limit, E-Stop & Stepper Wiring

Hi Marty, It's my understanding that the Acorn outputs a +24VDC pulse and the ST-M5045 is designed to accept +5VDC pulses thus the 2K ohm dropping resistors. Maybe cnckeith will join the discussion again and let us know if I have it correct or not. Vcc can be plus or minus depending on the controlle...

Re: Techno-Isel CMP 3020 router retrofit Limit, E-Stop & Stepper Wiring

Attached is my final drawing of the axis wiring diagram. If anyone sees an error then please let me know. All axis have both a +/- limit switch so I'm wiring them as shown until I have time to breakout the limit switches common and then I'll only use 3 of the inputs for the home limits and series th...

Re: Limit and E-Stop Wiring

Hi Marty, Thanks for the video you made on how to set up the Acorn - It was VERY helpful and answered a number of questions that I had. Initially I'm going to set the system up and have it monitor each limit due to the existing wiring layout. To breakout the limit switches would require tearing down...

Re: Limit and E-Stop Wiring

Hi Keith, I had looked at the wiring diagrams but knew for this simple router that I didn't need a lot of inputs other than the limit switches and E-stop. I wanted to keep all of the limit switches as isolated inputs and not wire some of them in series. I want to use the router as a learning tool fo...

Techno-Isel CPM 3020 router retrofit Limit, E-Stop & Stepper Wiring

I'm will be retrofitting a Techno-Isel CMP 3020 router with an Acorn and need to monitor 6 limit switches. Is the wiring shown in the attached drawing OK? Also, can the RL2 relay output be programmed to start/stop the router motor? Like others, I look forward to seeing the ACORN's manual and I hope ...
