Re: Homing to marks on X/Y and Switch on Z and PARK
Oh man. You guys are already over my head. I believe this thread may be a solution to my setup. Sorry, newbie here. Using Acorn with DMM DYN3 servo controllers. They have a home output. Is this also referred to as a park signal? Does anyone out there have the time to talk or point me to a method of...

Re: loss of position and lost communications ACORN
I have purchased and used SHIELDED bulkhead connectors and used a SHIELDED Short cable between it and Acorn very successfully. However, not all bulk head connectors are shielded and you should get rid of that excess cable between the connector and Acorn.

Re: Retrofit 2.0 TREE J325
Remove the jumper and use the output relays to control forward and reverse. Set the Output assignments appropriately in the Wizard.
Set the spindle speed settings is the Wizard Spindle tab. Then tune the VFD.
I assume you did the spindle speed Acorn bench test?

Re: Retrofit 2.0 TREE J325
How do you have FWD and REV connected from Acorn to the VFD?
If either is open, the VFD should not turn the motor.
Always post a fresh report.

Re: Encoder Basics
Ugh, that is clearly not the way to solder.
Thank you for taking the time to show what it should look like when properly done withe the CORRECT iron, tip, temperature and solder.

Re: Spindle upgrade on a Tormach
Hey, Guys hopefully this is not frowned on here as it's not really an Acorn-related question. Looking for some input on upgrading a Tormach series 3 1100 to a 10K spindle? What would it take to do it? Tormach does not offer that for the older machines. The current stock Spindel is 5500 RPMs. Someth...

Re: upgrade lathe
The question to ask the original poster (which we do not know) if he understands the mechanics involved and the machining involved to do the project correctly.
What kind of spindle speeds is the lathe capable of and what kind of work he hopes to do on it.
