Re: Spindle Brake air, how to setup/operate allin1

That can be done but the PLC program will need to be modified. You can use output 9 for that. Without a current report from your system I can't verify this but I am assuming that output 9 is programmed to be a Z brake motor. If you can get internet access to the control, please contact Centroid Tech...

Re: Look Ahead

The lookahead for the CNC12 software is 2000 lines. There is a cutter comp look ahead which is defined by the value of parameter 99. When it stopped, why did the software? Did it throw a message in the message window? What was that message? Please provide us with a current report from your system as...

Re: my acorn fault.

Those outputs are not relay outputs so thinking of them as "normally closed" or "normally open" may confuse things. They are open collector outputs unless you are referring to the DB25 connector which in that case they are push-pull drivers. If we are referring to the H2 and H3 t...

Re: my acorn H2 NC

Please provide us with a current report as well as photos of your wizard tabs. The only thing that I can think of right now that would alter the behavior of the outputs is if they are inverted in the wizard.

Re: F commands in MDI

Just remember that as long as you enter the G1 the first time, you do not have to enter it again while in MDI unless you command a G0 as it's modal. You could just add a new F command. If you exit out of MDI and go back into it, it will default back to G0 mode so you need to make sure to enter the G...

Re: F commands in MDI

If you only type X0 F10, you forgot to type G1 which is the linear feed G code. By default, when you go into MDI, it's in rapid or G0 mode. Once you add a G1 in MDI, it will stay in that mode as it's modal.

Re: Bridgeport gear selector feedback

The majority of spindles on a Mill only have 2 gears, high and low. All you need is 1 switch which tells the control whether it's in high or low gear. I would say that the majority of systems that I have seen just wire the one switch. The control automatically assumes that the spindle is in high gea...

Re: Output not working

All of the outputs with the exception of output 1 and 2 are open-collector outputs. Outputs 1 and 2 are relay outputs. That means that the open collector outputs will pull the output to ground when it is enabled. That also means that since it's an open collector output, a pull up will be needed in o...

Re: Automatic gear range selection

One thing that just popped in my head that may work is that you could weld a piece of metal onto that gear on the vicinity of one of the teeth and install a proximity sensor. This would act as a make shift "index pulse". What is the gear ratio between that gear and the actual spindle? If i...
