Question about the ribbon cables: how long are they and can they be extended if they're short? I think I'll need about 5 feet of cable to run from the electronics box on the back of my lathe, then below it and up into the front control panel. If they're not long enough, what kind of connectors are ...

might be the balls clicking, cheap ball screws make that noise.

your overall turns ratio doesn't match the Avids i've worked on so that number you have threw up a red flag for me. is this some old belt drive they made that has a different reduction ratio?
