Re: why does centroid never remember its coordinate/home

Homing to an index pulse on a servo motor like a DMM and DYN2 or DYN4 helps with lathes. There are very few drives that give this output to the user.... putting a very precise proximity sensor over the ballscrew pulley is another method. Emco did this for quite some time on their stepper driven lat...

Re: Motors are winding out on rapid moves

From Sherline this morning: Marty and Bill, The max feed rate with our stepper motors and drive box is 32 in/min. In the video it looks like Bill is exceeding the max feed rate on his finish pass. In addition to this. Stepper motors have the highest torque at the lower feed rate. As you increase th...

Re: Wiring Confirmation

120V or 240V? 120V only the hot needs to go through the contactor 240V both hots need to go through the contactor In either case, it frees up a contact for you to use for C86ACCP No Fault This is why we ask you for pictures. We can not "SEE" what you "SEE" Thank you for posting t...

Re: why does centroid never remember its coordinate/home

I have said the same thing in the past. The board needs a battery and some memory so that retains it's position from the last session so it thinks power was never turned off to it. Then you wouldn't have to rehome and set your part zeros and such. It would save a massive amount of time for us hobby...

Re: Wiring Confirmation

S15117 is depicting 3 phase motor power connections requiring 3 contacts (L1,L2,L3), if the motor power is single phase 120vac then only the line lead (hot) would need to be routed through the E-stop contactor leaving the other contacts available for other circuits. Earth ground should never be rou...

Re: Wiring Confirmation

The jist of all of this is you need another pair of contacts to close the C86ACCP IF you are using all 4 contacts on your current contactor.

Take a picture of your contactor and sketch how you have it wired and post it here please

Re: Wiring Confirmation

All relays should have a snubber. Some relays have flyback diodes built into them. (I drew it in as a matter of being consistent with the Acorn schematic) I am not sure what is confusing you. You simply add another small relay, you PARALLEL the coils of the two relays together, so that they are both...
