Currently, there are no plans for that.

Re: Acorn vs Oak pulse frequency and servo motor resolution

Personally I prefer line driver outputs rather than the open collector outputs from an electrical/noise immunity point of view, I agree. I do see that this is planned as a future expansion for Acorn six which now tempts me. There is a board with differential line driver outputs in testing phase. Ac...

Re: Acorn vs Oak pulse frequency and servo motor resolution

In the case that the servo drive is doing the position control calculation, is it true that there is no difference in position precision/resolution achievable through Acorn versus Oak? On the typical machine, there is no difference. The maximum speed, axis ratios, machine mechanical accuracy, and o...

Re: Acorn vs Oak pulse frequency and servo motor resolution

Electronic gearing must be used to bring the encoder counts per revolution down to something manageable, like 8192 to 32768 counts per revolution. If the axis ratios (turns per inch) are reasonable on the machine, this has no effect on actual accuracy. The protocols involved are not suitable for ext...

Re: Can I do anything with Haas servos and "smart amplifiers"

That motor has a quadrature encoder with A, B (etc.) outputs. It is incompatible with Sigma 5 or Sigma 7, which work with serial encoders.

I think the drives only work with a proprietary protocol, but don't have any solid evidence to back that up.

Disconnect the wiring to the VFD and measure the analog output voltage if it continues to be a problem with the correct DIP switch settings.

Re: Encoder Error

Approximately what was the range of production dates for Oak units with v0x0031 firmware? sn 1378 9-16-22 to sn 1446 3-6-23, some quantity less than 67 units Some of the boards in that range did not ship and are now updated. Yup i have this problem too. And i have the that ic28 label. Looks like i ...

Re: Encoder Error

Has there been any resolution to this other than a new board for Greg82? Yes, we have discovered the cause of the problem. Oak with IC28 labeled LC4D v0x0031 have an issue. Position request outputs 2-4 may have unexpected short times between A/B transition. This will cause missed counts to servo dr...

Re: Newbie with Centroid Boards need help

I need to know if the board receives information from the encoder to, for example, avoid using mechanical limit switches. Multi-turn absolute encoders are needed if you want to skip homing. Possibly you could home to reference marks and not use limit switches, but that is not recommended. The Servo...
