I'm having the same problem. A thread that I can't find at the moment mentioned having this problem and their fix had something to do with the 5 volt power. I removed my five volt power from my dual power supply and the beaglebone booted fine. Replaced the 5-volt and it still boots fine. Go figure. ...

Keith, Doc - Thanks for the replys. Re encoder: AD has a medium duty encoder for $30 more that has an 11 lbf radial rating vs 4.5 lbf for the light duty one. I think I'll try it and see how it lasts. Doc- I have a couple of questions about your Logan conversion, which looks great! I am on the same road with an 8x14 lathe. Why use a pair of duplex angular contact bearings? Wouldn't single bearings have the same effect? The Koyo Automation direct light duty encoder I am looking at (TRDA-2E2500VD) ...

I have an G1004, which is very similar, and have put a gas spring in to aid in moving the knee. Would have to look up the specs - I think it is about 80 lb of force. Have not checked for backlash since I have assumed the knee weight would rule.
