in the photo it looks like the bore is moving +X and - Y in all cases , is this true?

I have extra ball nuts so I can try a double nut setup, but first I need to make sure where the backlash is coming from. It may also be coming from the fixed bearing block. I swapped the bearings for angular contact, and added a bearing shim to get some pre-load. Is 0.0005" backlash a lot? gre...
