Re: Gigabyte Brix Mini PCs

The i5-6200U single thread rating is 1499 and Centroid recommends 1500.
I've also read, somewhere in the forum, that as low as around 1300 is OK so I guess the i5-6200U will work.

You can look up the CPU's info here: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/

I know that this is simple, but I really don't feel like cooking something.
You have it right - Nice job of modifying the drawing

Fundamentals of CNC Machining

I saw a post by CNCKEITH where he had posted a portion of the manual from Fusion 360.
Here is where you can get the complete PDF file of the 256 page manual and if you're new CNC'er then you'll find it really helpful.

Re: Acorn to G203v Pullup Resistor

You would want to wire up each axis as shown on the drawing.

A lot of us use the Meanwell RD-35B to power the Acorn and supply the +5 VDC for the stepper or servo drivers. You can get them from Jameco for $11.95 + shipping.

Re: CNC12 unresponsive and ethernet communication error (check firewall)

I just scanned your postings and don't see where you've said which PC you built. Which motherboard and processor did you use? Memory? Hard drive? It could be that the Ethernet adapter on your motherboard has problems and if you have empty card slots on the motherboard you can get a Ethernet card off...

Re: RPM pickup without Encoder?

Merry Christmas !!

If you would let the forum know what mill you have and maybe a photo of the spindle then maybe someone that has a similar setup can recommend how an encoder could be mounted.

Re: Help needed with PM-940m CNC VS conversion to the Acorn Controller

I made a quick drawing that should help you get started. Do check all of the wire numbers to make sure I got them right. Like I said, this was a really quick drawing and there may be an error or two in the wire numbers. Hope this helps. Orin http://www.autochart.com/CENTROID%20ACORN/Techno/PM-940m%2...
