Re: ***DMM TECHNOLOGIES DYN4 USERS PLEASE READ***

I got a little off topic. When the DYN4 has an alarm, the signal goes high for 400ms, then low for 400ms (a square wave). There is a filter in the PLC program to ignore false alarms with some drive brands. Parameter 991 is the filter time in ms, and is 1000 by default. Set parameter 991 to 1 to rec...

Re: ***DMM TECHNOLOGIES DYN4 USERS PLEASE READ***

If you are using an ACORN 3, the ALARM (drive fault signal) from the DYN4 is a pulsed signal. It is NOT high it is NOT low, and will not trigger the ACORN 3 input. Hi Marty, please post when you get a answer on the alarm question , i see that Reedfirst posted about using a Mosfet to correct the pro...

Re: ***DMM TECHNOLOGIES DYN4 USERS PLEASE READ***

Acorn 2 works. Acorn 3 does not. I have encouraged DMM to make the alarm output user configurable, but not holding my breathe. Yes, you could latch the pulse, but that adds a level of complexity. Don't want to go there if possible. I try to work on the K.I.S.S. principle Going to test going in via ...

Re: Updated DMM DYN2 and DYN4 to Acorn Hookup schematics.

Thanks for the follow up. I think DMM is also working actively to get their arms around Acorn and bow it functions. I think they need more customizability in their software for a couple features, like the alarm output signal which appears to pulse rather than be at a steady state. They say some CNC...

Re: Updated DMM DYN2 and DYN4 to Acorn Hookup schematics.

Addendum to last post , i did not use the DMM B/O board on the build i used a straight thru ,B/O board to the Acorn per the wiring from the sight .

Re: Updated DMM DYN2 and DYN4 to Acorn Hookup schematics.

Yeah, that part kind of sux on DMM's part, two different beasts and way of getting the signals into them. But curiously wonder what exactly the issue was? Seems step/dir signals as long as you didn't try and drive the DYN2 and DYN4 from the same output shouldn't have mattered. DYN2 via DB25 port us...

Re: Dual Voltage Power Supply with Acorn?

Yep added the Acorn one to the power supply box and purchased a new one from Jameco, before the the Acorn hit the door.

And you can send the complaints here we have a special file for them!

Re: Updated DMM DYN2 and DYN4 to Acorn Hookup schematics.

I did some more work this morning on this lathe rebuild ,from Mach 3 to Acorn ,found out that you (can not) use a dyn 2 drive and a dyn 4 drive on a Acorn board . You get all kinds of noise ,the dyn 4 motor starts humming and the dyn 2 motor will start moving on its own,the minute you hook the dyn 2...

Re: Updated DMM DYN2 and DYN4 to Acorn Hookup schematics.

I think its even more important do use the ZRI on the lathe. I would be interested to see how repeatable your prox switches are. If the feature is there, use it? Unless you need the I/O I will give it a try tomorrow, i had to stop for today it was making my head hurt , it's raining and some lightni...
