Re: Lathe X and Fusion 360 Post Question

Hi Jasen, First to make sure you have your x revs/mm set correctly set a dial indicator up to measure x travel. Then go to incremental jog and hit .100 your measurement should be half the increment setting so should be reading .050 0n indicator. If that's true next is Looking at your report it state...

Re: Lathe Reference Tool Questions

Sorry Jasen, I tend to unwind from work with a few barley pops and sometimes get carried away with them. I do know the frustration with learning a new control. We, my son who is a gunsmith have loved the Centroid control as we have had the lathe since 2011 and love the ability to re run the threadin...

Re: Rigid Tap Fails!

Hi Dave, I would be curious if you wrote a stickily g code program that called the G84 individual coordinate's out for your array of holes line by line to tap to see if the single call that works would cure your issues to see if its something in your parameters affecting your issues. It would help z...

Re: Lathe Reference Tool Questions

Hi Dave, This I can help you with it is covered in chapter 4 page 2 in the 3.16 cnc11 manual Tool Orient: This is the tool operation direction, which generally describes the direction in which the tool points. It also implies the orientation of the work surface. Choices here are OD (outer diameter),...

Re: Rigid Tap Fails!

Hi Dave, I downloaded your file and changed the name to string.nc as my milltronics doesn't like spaces in the file names its based on dos 6.22 but it dose have a tapping cycle G84 that the intercom code ran after I took out the ; for comments and added () brackets and removed M25 call to Z Home. Mi...

Re: G0678 CNC Conversion Thread

Hi Dave, Have you tried setting all your tool offsets in the tool library relative to a reference tool? and call the G43 H offsets? It seems that it needs that offset when moving between tools and on a tapping array? Just a thought.

Re: G0678 CNC Conversion Thread

Hi Dave, I had a hard time getting my head around our t400 lathe years ago, as the verify graphics would not show correct tool path position till I set actual tool references for tool numbers. It took my son to point that out to me. I always run a program in F8 Graph as I've found after a few embarr...

Re: Axis pairing.

karben14, Did you have to change your motor counts as you observed from the wizard in your other post "I also notice in the second tab that the Steps/Revolution for the N axis is different and the homing direction is different too. Axis 1 to 3 show 2000 for Steps/Revolution but axis 4 shows 200...
