Re: Encoder Basics

I am new to encoding terminology. I found the below passage helpful in understanding CPR and PPR. CPR most commonly stands for Counts per Revolution, and refers to the number of quadrature decoded states that exist between the two outputs A and B. With both outputs A and B switching between high and...

Re: vfd drive

Have you measured the voltage on each leg of your RPC? Is it balanced? If not and with only 2-3hp need probably I would not risk using the wild leg on the VFD input as there is no real benefit. In fact it will cost you more per kw as the ideler is running during usage of the RPC.

Why not create a second tool adding the additional test diameter to the tool definition?

Re: AJAX CONTROL CHANGE OVER

Check the amperage setting for the drive inputs (the pins have a range). Once you verify those are right make sure to run the tuning.

Re: Ajax reverse tapping cycle

OK I have a ER32 floating tapping head now and the DC regen res installed for braking my VFD.

Is there a formula or table for figuring out good speeds for taps? 1/4-20, 1/2-13. 4-40, 8-32, 10 - those are the sizes I use the most.

Any advice on using the floating tapping heads?
