Re: Ethernet switch?

I just thought of something that can be done but I highly DO NOT recommend doing this as Centroid always recommends having a direct Ethernet connection between the PC and Centroid hardware and I may be shot just for saying it. You could have the Ethernet cable going to one of those old DB9 switch bo...

Re: Ethernet switch?

None of that will work because the Centroid software requires an Ethernet adapter to have the following IP address, 10.168.41.1. Since you cannot have multiple Ethernet adapters with the same IP address, you will not be able to install different ACORN boards to different Ethernet ports. The only via...

Re: Spindle Speed Question

With the wires disconnected, we now know that the issue is not with the ACORN. It could be an issue with the cable. It could also be an issue with the VFD. Please verify that the VFD is setup to accept a voltage as the control signal. I know that some can either accept a voltage or a current as the ...

Re: Looking for a wiring schematic for the legacy servo3IO

Scott accidentally sent you a schematic for a DC3IO not a SERVO3IO. I don't know why he sent you an ATC schematic. Did you inform him that your machine has an ATC? He is correct in that if you can provide us with a current report from the system, we will be able to provide you with the schematic tha...

Re: Spindle Speed Question

I doubt that it has anything to do with the wire sizes but those signal wires should be a minimum of 22AWG. When you ran your test, were the analog signal wires disconnected from the VFD? Were the probe meters directly screwed onto the terminals of the ACORN board? I'm not sure what "higher spe...

Re: Spindle Speed Question

Please send us a current report from your system. Your spindle speed shouldn't be changing speeds unless you are running Constant Surface Speed in the Lathe software. Disconnect the analog signals to the inverter and command a speed. Do you see that voltage oscillating?

Re: PLC Preventing MPG Movement

Tom, Not exactly sure what this logic "QuillBallnutClamped ^ InvQuillClampSwitch_M" is for but as long as you have an input that tells the control when the quill is in manual mode, let's call it ManualQuill then all you need is the following logic. IF MPG_AXIS_1 || MPG_AXIS_2 || (MPG_AXIS_...

Re: Running backwards

Looking at the report, you do have permanent unlocks entered. Please verify that on the Options, it shows Permanent Unlock and Intercon as highlighted in green and that they say ON to the left of the option. If it does, then you have nothing to worry about as when the DEMO expires, those features wi...

Re: Running backwards

A dead CMOS battery shouldn't cause the control to be locked out of the CNC10 software. Please email us a current report from that system. Whether you have a Windows or Linux or DOS system, generating a report is pretty much the same. The only time it's different is on the older DOS systems because ...
