Re: VCP RESET onscreen button
the reset button is not an estop. Dont want it to be one. I have physical working estop switches the vcp reset button is resetting software, CNC12, clearing fault messages etc. You forgot that it also toggles the NoFault output when present a virtual 'estop' isn't an actual estop and can not be lab...

VCP RESET onscreen button
Testers.... This is in regard to the action and state of the onscreen RESET button. If memory serves me correctly, when an alarm or the ESTOP was triggered in earlier versions the VCP RESET button state was changed to RESET TRIPPED. This action does not occur with the current release v5.08. The foll...

Yes, and YesDragonbitscnc wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 12:33 pm If I'm reading this correctly, I can wire limit switches to Acorn board according to "S14945.DWG"-and use G540 as drive only?
Also does the PSU (MEANWELL RD-35B) that comes with acorn board have enough power for 5 NPN proximity switches?
thanks John.

Re: Setting up a 4th axis travel
This may help a bit...
1 rev per minute = 360°/min
1 rev per second (60 rpm) = 21,600°/min
Depending on your hardware neither one of the above are considered very fast. I routinely set my max rate at 144,000°/min for low reduction wood cutting, with fast jog at 7200 and slow jog at 720

Re: Setting up a 4th axis travel
2.5 to 1 is seldom enough reduction to return good results. That said, you need to know exactly what the reduction ratio is. Divide that number by 360 and you will have your turns per degree.
For example for 2.5 to 1 reduction: 2.5/360 = 0.006944

Re: acorn to ahha!
Due to the age of those drives there is no guarantee that they will work properly when connected to a modern controller. That said, after looking over the provided manual, all the info for connection, including the use of pull up resistors is in there. Connect to the step/direction pins and common o...

Connect those LeadShine (clone) drives to the DB25 connector and make sure that you do not connect to the enable pin on the drive
