Re: Wells Index knee mill and DMM servo selection
I got a quick reply from DMM: The 750W motors are the correct motor size for most knee mills. The 86N-DHT and 86M-DHT are the exact same motors but with different mounts. The 86M motor is lower cost because we product and sell more of this motor. For CNC application, you won't notice any difference ...

Wells Index knee mill and DMM servo selection
I'm looking into converting an old, mid-'80s Wells Index 700 CNC mill to Acorn w/ DMM servos. The mill has an old Bandit / Summit / Dana control with Electrocraft servo motors (with tach and resolver feedback). The motors use L sized timing belts with a 2:1 ratio and the ball-screw lead is the stand...

Re: Acorn with older Yaskawa drives
I think you'll be fine if you replace the 08AS drive with a 08AP drive as long as they are the same voltage. You will need to get a JUSP-OP02A1-E programmer to auto-tune the motor/drive. The Yaskawa drives do require differential step/direction inputs, so you'll have to install pull-up resistors as ...

Re: Acorn with older Yaskawa drives
Your SGDA-08AS is a Sigma I drive that only supports speed/torque control (±10 VDC).
If it was a SGDA-08AP (position control), then it could possibly be controlled by an Acorn sending step/direction commands.

Re: Acorn CNC12 v4.10 has been released
Any updates on the "Red Oak" board and when it might be released? Will this board also run CNC12 software?

OAK Custom control panel using 11077 connector?
Do you have any more information on the optional 11077 control panel connector on the OAK board? I would like to create a custom panel with individual switches and wire them to utilize the control panel connector on the OAK board. Also, using the existing connector will make for a cleaner install. I...

Touch screen control panel for OAK board? When?
We are thinking about doing a retrofit of a 2-axis lathe with one of your Oak boards. Can you give us an idea of when the touch screen operator's control panel will be released in CNC11?
