Re: Spindle Reset

The spindle reset allows the control to clear an inverter fault by cycling the estop. This is good because you don't have to get into your electrical cabinet to clear the inverter when it's in a fault state.

Captain Midnight,

First, the DC3IOB manual can be downloaded here:

Re: Linux to windows conversion

Riverside192, To convert from Linux to Windows this is what you need to do: 1.) Make a report to backup your configuration. Captain Midnight, In the CNC11 software, from the main screen press F1(Setup)->F3(Config)->default password is 137->F2(Mach.)->F2(Motor). Set all of your axis labels to N and press F10(Save). Cycle your E-stop input, removing and installing the jumper that you are using on input 11. You should see t...

Re: Hurco TC Brains

Please no smoke, That is correct. You can home the machine using the Mach software by issuing an M92 command. M92 Pxy Quv Rst x, u, and s states the direction you will be homing - 0 for positive, 1 for negative. y, v, and t states which axis you will be homing. Examples: M92 P1 Moves the 1st axis in...

Re: I can't get past step 4.4.7 in the manual.

Captain Midnight,

What is the status of the DF LED, which is located right next to the fibers on the DC3IOB, when you press E-stop and when you release E-stop?

Re: brake enable

Riley, The GPIO4D does have a few relayed outputs. You can hook the axis brake to one of those outputs, as long as they are not being used by anything else. The one motor brake pin will be hooked to the GND of the motor brake power supply. The other motor brake pin will connected to the one side of ...

Re: 4.4.5 Testing PC, MPU11

Captain Midnight, If you cycle E-stop, do you see the Estop Detected and Estop Released messages on your message window without any faults after the messages and do you see the DF LED on the DC3IOB, which is located right next to the fibers, turn ON and OFF? If there exists no other faults, what sho...

Re: 4.4.5 Testing PC, MPU11

Yes setting parameter 178 to 3 will change the low_lube fault and the spindle_fault to normally open instead of normally closed. Your other option is to simply jumper the low lube and spindle fault inputs to input common. P178 Bit 0 Low lube Add 1 for Normally open Bit 1 Spindle fault Add 2 for Norm...

Re: Quetion

SML,

You need to find an inverter with the appropriate spec's to run your spindle motor. Then you can interface the DC3IOB or GPIO4D with the inverter (FWD, REV, analog signal etc.). The control will control the inverter and then inverter will control the spindle motor.
