Re: CAD -> CNC usage

OK no problem, thanks. Here's hoping Dolphin Turn has a solid post-processor for Centroid. Haven't got that far yet but I'm betting they do. The mill will need 2.5D stuff only so Intercon will be fine. When I get my act together and finish building machines, I am going to give Fusion 360 a go. Both...

Re: No heartbeat from acorn

I also had this happen, just writing different configs to the Acorn. Sudden no heart beat. I tried repeatedly and it would just not communicate from the PC to the Acorn. I decided to reboot the PC, because even the ethernet lights did not work correctly. Then turned on the Acorn and it came up just...

Re: De-Mach'ing my ORAC.

After further RTFM'ing, it appears I will need to connect through the H6 DB25 if I want to keep my 5v sensors or throw them out & change to 24v NPN opto-sensors. Yes? No, I spoke with Keith today. He suggested using a dropping resistor on the 24VDC feeding the inputs, to drop to 5VDC. Doing anythin...

Nice work and tip on the Panasonic drives Russ.
Thanks for sharing the info. We'll be watching in 2.1 weeks to see the machine cutting. ;)

Re: De-Mach'ing my ORAC.

I have opto sensor units for X & Y homing on the ORAC. They have a 5vdc supply, ground and a signal that changes state as the sensor is covered/uncovered. They worked perfectly with Mach3 which "looked" at the signal through the parallel port. I have the 5v supply & ground connected and am ready to...

Re: Emcoturn 120 lathe short video

It was the pawn part with encoder, its included with your software. It parted off fine. the diameter at that point should have been .9" my stock was 1.0" My pawn had a flat top because my needle nose got pinched between the tool and the part. I have since bought some insert tools for the lathe. Than...

You have a nice machine. Many of us are putting our City and State in our Signature line so we know who is where.

Re: CNC12 won't load properly on factory-supplied computer

That's a video I haven't seen. Is there a listing of all the relevant videos, somewhere? Some appear to be linked from the Acorn pages, some are posted here- but in multiple different threads- and so on. If there isn't such a complete listing, maybe we should put one together- here's the ones you'l...

Re: Can an Acorn be run from a laptop?

The set up and all looks very straight forward. I was looking thru the options with the wizard even though I dont possess the Acorn yet. The 0704 is running an MX3660, (2) 570 oz 23's and a 960 oz 34. It has limit switches on all axis' etc. In regards to the other DM project going on. I wonder if h...

Re: CNC12 won't load properly on factory-supplied computer

Can the CNC software (CNC12, etc.) be uninstalled and reloaded if there any issues, like most other software? I know you'd lose your settings and whatnot, but it's not a matter of having to buy another license if you have Pro, right? Doc. Watch the video on creating and restoring from a report. The...
