Re: Contactors? Best reasonably priced

I'm using something like this to power up the whole cabinet on the Phoenix 4x4 router: 2 Pole 30A 120V Definite Purpose Contactor Honeywell DP2030B5004 http://r.ebay.com/ixVmzy This would be a good choice for the relay to Estop the power to the DYN4 drives. I'm not so sure I am worried about the log...

Re: HERCUS Mill Retrofit

Looks to me like you have what you need. What they are calling gnd is com. Take a meter and set it to continuity/resistance and go across the gnd terminals of the vfd. I think you will find they are connected internally to the VFD. You can test all of the function terminals on the vfd without connec...

Re: Arcade joystick as pendant

Wow, quite the setup! All tested with your software and Acorn? Yup! :D Joytokey worked great with it. It's powered through usb as well, so no need for an external power source, and if you wanted to, all the buttons, and the joysticks are micro switches, so I'm sure someone with more knowledge on el...

Re: Acorn & PC Division of Tasks

Boy Mike, you sure analyzed this one! I assume you are using some of those CNC machines for money making endeavors? As I think you probably gleaned from the thread, I am doing the opposite. That is, spending a bunch of money and probably won't gain monetarily from it, but I am having fun! Key phras...

Re: 325 Limit Error?

Rick, Please always post a current report when requesting support. Without it, we are completely in the dark as to the cause of any issues. The report contains, among many other things: A log of all errors reported, a log of configuration changes, a copy of the PLC program, a copy of your machine co...

I posted a video on the fb page.
I wished you would upload the video to YouTube and post the link here.
This is the primary resource for support.

Your rapids look respectable? Please upload a new report file here.

2500ppr is 10000cpr. Thought I read 2500ppr.
If the encoder has 2500 lines per revolution then yes you enter 10000 in the Wizard.

So is your machine setup correctly?

Re: G0678 CNC Conversion Thread

Marty, Good idea on the ball screws. These came from Automationoverstock.com and are made by Hiwin. This ball nut has 4 rows of balls. It is called a "Zero Backlash" nut and the specs say .0007" or less backlash. Price was less than $100.00 US. Includes the grease fitting and is shipped in a sealed...

Re: Acorn & PC Division of Tasks

Interesting analogy, thank you! Boy Mike, you sure analyzed this one! It was an interesting read for sure. I enjoyed reading the dialogue. Why don't you buy one and set it up and give it a go? The rest of us are building and refitting machines while you are thinking this through..... Let's see, I a...
