Re: How to know actual spindle angular movement

Ashish, You will have to search your spindle drive documentation for that information. If your spindle drive can output an encoder signal that meets our encoder specification, you could use the PLC to read the encoder and compare the two positions. Please see here for our encoder requirements: http:...

Re: mach3 mpu11 probing

Hi Eric, I was just in a meeting in which I outlined the requirements for high speed probe sampling with one of our programmers. If you can hold on a few days more I should have something you can test with this week. The stopping will be handled in the MPU11 using configured decel values, the positi...

Re: "x axis error" in Mach 3

Rppman, We have added a couple of parameters to allow you to use encoders which do not meet our specifications. In machajax.xml file (you can edit it with notepad) in the ajax subdirectory of your Mach3 install there are two nodes: "StopOnEncoderError" is used to tell the control whether to issue a ...

Re: CNC11 update

Hi Terry,

Some of the pendant keys were re-mapped after you received you kit. This is fixed in a PLC program update which I'm testing this morning. -Look for a new topic this afternoon titled "Current MPU11 PLC Programs For CNC11". I will also have updated CNC11 software posted shortly

Re: mach3 mpu11 probing

Hello Eric, Have you tried the probing using Brains as they currently are? It very well may be that the I/O update rate is already acceptable. The issue you mention of Mach/Modbus only sampling 10 times per second does not hold true with our I/O. While we do use the Modbus "framework" in Mach for st...

Re: what comes first????

Rppman, A word about: When installing your system, do not take shortcuts. It is VERY important that you follow the instructions and do the installation and testing in stages. Doing things incrementally and testing as you go will allow you to immediately isolate the cause of any problems that you may...

You should follow the AMC docs to setup the drives to run in torque mode and the inital position of the pots and then follow the tuning procedure in the Ajax Mach operators manual.

M19 - How does spindle orientation work?

M19 - How does spindle orientation work? To command a spindle orientation (M19), the AjaxCNC control turns on a PLC output to request that the spindle drive orient the spindle and then waits for the spindle drive to notify the control that orient is complete by opening (or closing) an input on the ...
