Re: Wire specs for Acorn to VFD
Marty, my supplier didn't have 8-wire 18-gauge cable. So, I figured I'll just use 2 4-wire cables to the VFD.

Re: Wire specs for Acorn to VFD
Thanks, Marty. I picked up some 4-wire, 18 gauge, shielded cable for the Acorn-to-VFD control wiring.
(I'm waiting on getting an order of 4-wire, 16 gauge, double-shielded cable for the VFD-to-spindle wires.)

Wire specs for Acorn to VFD
There are a number of wires I will be connecting between the Acorn board and my VFD that runs a 2.2kw spindle. Do you have a recommendation on the type of wire to use? For instance, should I use a single cable with 8 18 gauge wires? Should it be a shielded cable? Or, is 20 or 22 gauge all I need ...

Re: Starting CNC without Last program Run Default
I think your first note on adding 4 to parameter 4 will get me what I want. Thanks for that tip.
As to your second note, perhaps a future version of CNC12 would allow a user to set the default directory (that is not tied to the last file loaded). Then it would not be necessary to preload the last ...

Re: Starting CNC without Last program Run Default
1. I also find the auto-load of the last file loaded an unwelcome feature. When exiting CNC12 and reloading it please don’t do this. Or, at least allow a way to turn this feature off. This is the way most software works that I use. Word and Excel don’t load the last opened file for me automatically ...

Thanks. I’ll look into that product. It appears promising.

Shark CNC - convert over to using Acorn and Centroid CNC12
Does anyone know of a source for a replacement controller for a Next Wave Shark CNC?

Re: Z Touch-off plate setup
Perfect. That will get me going. I saw the TT-1 Tool Touchoff schematic in the zip file. Just what I was looking for.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Z Touch-off plate setup
Having successfully wired up my Acorn board and set up CNC12, I now want to install a touch-off plate (or TT-1 probe) to set Z zero. Where can I find information about wiring up something and then setting it up and using it in CNC12?

Re: Acorn install isn't working - no motor movement
Success! In the end I just changed one wire - connected the 'red' wire to the 5vdc on the Mean Well (instead of to COM next to EN2).
Secondly, I did as you said, and told the Wizard it was a 'Leadshine'.
With those two changes all is working perfectly. Thanks so much for your help (and patience ...
