Re: Auto Homing Squaring pairing using ZRI ?

Thanks again cnckeith, I'd happily throw the instructions out the window, but I'd like to find something right about it first. I searched for a long time for some toaster posts, I haven't found anything on the subject. From what I've read from his posts, he's always referring to stepper motors. Noth...

Re: Auto Homing Squaring pairing using ZRI ?

Thank cnckeith for your reply. In the meantime, I had time to think about it Now I think it's not possible for these reasons: According to the relative Acorn instructions, there are some conditions to be satisfied: 1)The Gantry Home Switches must not be square to the machine. In other words: they do...

Auto Homing Squaring pairing using ZRI ?

Dedicating an input of the Acorn for the ZRI from the X, YMaster and Z and another for the ZRI from the Y Slave, is possible to use the Auto Homing and Auto Squaring with Software Pairing?

Thanks,
Henry

Re: Normally close Alarm output from Servo drive in series?

Hi Uwe, Thanks for the super quick reply! My drivers do not allow to configure the Alarm outputs as NO. - From the manual: ..."The relative output transistors turn on when the drivers are at Normal Status, and off at Alarm Status". I can only assign the Alarm output to a different pin. Henry

Normally close Alarm output from Servo drive in series?

I need to connect all four alarm outputs from the drivers to a single Acorn input (I have no other) DriveOK. The problem is that the ALARM output from the drivers (Panasonic Minas A5), are normally closed, and they can not be changed. The relative output transistors turn on when the drivers are at N...

CentroID DriveOK Input wiring: Alarm vs. Drive ready

A question about the “DRIVEOK” input on Acorn CentroID and wiring the ALARM output from the Drive vs. SERVO READY From the driver I have two outputs: ALARM Output - From the Drivers Manual: "This signal shows that the driver is in ALARM Status. The output transistor turn on when the driver is a...

Re: Absolute encoders and Centroid Step per revolution setting

Thank you cnckeith! I will do that. And thank you suntravel. According to the manual, my Panasonic servo drives can output the quadrature differential signal, as well the ZRI (open collector). The drives are four Panasonic MCDHT3520, the Panasonic motors have the 17 bit absolute Encoders. My doubt r...

Re: Absolute encoders and Centroid Step per revolution setting

Thanks cncsnw, That's what I'm going to do. I just wanted to understand how it works. In other words: how the output of an absolute encoder behaves when it is set as Incremental in the AC Servo driver. Is its output seen as Quadrature output? Does a 17 bit Absolute encoder have the same resolution o...

Re: Absolute encoders and Centroid Step per revolution setting

Thank you Uwe and eng199 for your suggestions. Unfortunately I still don't understand, also because it seems to me that Uwe says to use the same number, eng199 says to multiply by 4. Or am I wrong?

Re: Absolute encoders and Centroid Step per revolution setting

Thanks for the quick reply: the drivers are set in Pulse mode, everything works and now I would like to set the output from Acorn Centroid and consequently the driver inputs. What do you mean "The setting of the servo encoder is for the servo driver only"? I set the absolute encoders as in...
