syncing of spindle with 4th axis

Is it possible to sync the spindle rotation with the rotation of a 4th axis to hob on a mill? im thinking it might be possible if you set up the 4th as a linear axis and run a tapping cycle maybe but wonder in there might be a better way?

Re: One problem fixed. Now a new one. FIXED

I contacted DMM and they said the enable circuit should work and if not i will need to add a time delay so the drives power off before the acorn. i added a enable circuit with 270ohm resistors. fixed the problem. now i have to work on cleaning up my terrible wiring.

By default, the ACORN will pull the ENA output to COM when it's energized. If you are using the screw terminals, the ENA is an open collector output which means that the ou...

Re: One problem fixed. Now a new one. Please Help

Yes i followed the centroid schematic. only wires i omitted for now was the alarm connections. im using a 600w 60v antek toroidal.

Is there any way to use the enable pin? the dyn requires 5v to the pin and the ena out on the acorn is to common i believe.

Re: Spindle interference with Z axis

when z is stationary there is no movement. i did run z down 5 inches and back to tool check a few times and it lost .015 with the spindle running at max 2500. was only about .002 lost when the spindle is not running. in searching the forum i found i should have my dyn2 hooked up through the db25 con...
