Ah, that means you havent got an offset correct somewhere, IE reset up the tool.rob murphy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 2:18 pm did that a few times, I think my backlash compensation is the issue.. just redid it , coming out .5mm too large on all 5 diameters.

Re: been cutting these all day ( testing x accuracy on lathe )
Sounds like a mix up of radius vs diameter, I had that before.

Re: Cuts not repeatable, I'm losing steps
i'm about to pull support (our DYN4 schematics and DYN4 drive type from the wizard) for the DYN4. countless hours spent on this forum trying to solve DYN4 related problems. I would use another AC motor/drive. Estun, Delta, Yaskawa, Clearpath you name it, they all work great. Maybe the DYN5 is great...

Re: Centroid Acorn with servos? New build: Novakon Torus Pro
Ive got a Bridgeport running on Panasonic servos, others have success too with servos.
Acorn outputs step / direction, not -10 to +10. So your drives need to be able to use step / direction and not speed control, otherwise it would not work.

I love(d) that machine, took some inspiration from it when I was designing my own machines.

Re: huang yang vfd
Most of the HY VFD's dont have the required braking circuitry. If you look in the VFD, you might see that nothing is connected to the terminals (from the inside).

Re: Dual Bridgeport BOSS Build
I installed Panasonic servos. If I was doing another, Id go servo again (lots of options). I dont think Ill ever do another stepper conversion again, the price point for cheap servos make them far better an option. I run a basic HY VFD for the spindle but about to try a proper spindle servo setup an...

Re: Dual Bridgeport BOSS Build
Ive retrofitted a Bridgeport Interact Series 1 which I think is similar to the Boss version (from a few quick pics). Pretty straightforward.

Re: Any UK retailer for AcornCNC
Thanks for the answer... that is great to know.. I already let my father to do it but it is good to know that for the future. I have also found some EU retailer but even if there would be no custom charges their prices are just ridiculous. I saw one which is asking £450 for $299 acorn kit. So I wil...
