zref changes
After I initially measure zref and then measure tool height offsets I then run some gcode programs. If I later want to add some tools to the tool library I notice that the zref value on the tool offsets page has changed. Is this correct? Another question is should the tool offsets be measured using ...

Question on G-code Comments
I have been working with ‘g-code comments’ using the convention in the centroid m-series operators manual that uses “colons” and “semicolons” to denote comments in a g-code program. Both the Peter Smid CNC programming Handbook and Machinery’s Handbook (page 1229) indicate the usage of Parentheses be...

CNC12 G-codes g41 cutter compensation
I have a question about G41 (cutter compensation). I am using G41 to make a 0.25 inch cut in x and y. When I make the cut it comes out to be 0.25 inches but the DRO reads out the path of the center of the end mill. I guess I expected to see the same coordinates in x and y the I used in the g-code pr...

Re: Any recommendations to source mushroom estop switch?
Another option is to take two of the estops that have one NC and one NO circuit and convert them into an estop with two NC circuits. I have been using estops like this for a while and have had no problems. See the attached links for information on doing this. Its pretty simple to do. http://www.cncz...

Re: ENA+ and ENA- Pins
Thanks for the explanation. I went back and looked in the driver instruction manual a little closer and found the following: "ENA +- pins Enable signal: This signal is used for enabling/disabling the driver. High level (NPN control signal, PNP and Differential control signals are on the contrar...

ENA+ and ENA- Pins
I am currently in the process of hooking up my controls for a G0704 milling machine. I am using Kelling 5056D drivers and 570 ounce inch stepper motors. The schematic I am using is the rev3 version of the Connections to Leadshine DM series stepper drives. I watched the Marty's video on "Wiring ...

Re: E-stop for Gecko G540 and Acorn
Marty
I did do searches for E-stops that were 2 NC and what I found was they are available but at a significantly higher prices whereas the e-stops that have one NC and one NO were available for about $6. So I bought the cheap ones and converted them.

E-stop for Gecko G540 and Acorn
Looking at the schematic for using the G540 with the acorn it shows two E-stop circuits. I searched on the internet for an estop switch that had two NC ( normally closed) circuits and did not find much. All I found were e-stop switches that one NC and one NO circuits. I did stumble across the writeu...
