Re: corner finder

I have tried this macro and I couldn't get it to work, haven't had time to mess with it but I am going to upgrade to the router version and then I will try this again. When it comes to Macros I don't know much about them but I will give it a shot. do I need the probing license for this to function? ...

Re: Trouble Setting Up DB-25 Connections on Leadshine-Like Motors

Gary,
are the pins on the db25 breakout board male?
if so bypass the cable and connect directly to the acorn
and see if it works correctly maybe something wrong with the cable??

Re: leadshine motor drives

I believe that you were misguided. Most likely by an urban myth started by ShopBot when they used 20T pinions on an older model with a motor that had more torque than the brackets that held the motors could control. The brackets twisted, the pinions ran at an angle, wore out fast and due to low res...

Re: leadshine motor drives

Charlie, after changing out several drivers on different machines, if you want a smoother running machine put some Leadshine drives in it. I thought Gary was just full of crap about gecko, but the difference is from noisy/grinding sound to not knowing if it's running or not. (Thanks Gary) Ken, I de...

Re: leadshine motor drives

Going from 4:1 to 3:1 will reduce your resolution (and torque) by 25%. Going to a 24T pinion will increase both by 20%. Since resolution can be "what you set it at" and resolution via microstepping and available torque are often inversely proportional do you have a specific issue that you...

Re: leadshine motor drives

Gary,
I am looking to increase the resolution in the final drives
I am currently running 4 to 1 belt drives with a 30 tooth pinion
so it brings the ratio down to aprox 3 to 1.
