Re: Setting Up Allin1DC on an older 2axis Prototrak Mill

If you have your control set up for 2 axis, then you should be able to go to Intercon, load any of the sample programs, and press F10/Post. That should cause Intercon to write out a fresh CNC file for that program, with 2-axis codes. Obviously some things, like Thread Milling, will not be possible; ...

Acorn H4: IN1: Z Home Switch (wired to mechanical Z home switch, NC) IN3: Z Driver Alarm (wired to driver ALM-) The Driver PU+, DR+, MF+, ALM+ and the other end of the home switch circuit are all wired to Acorn 24V Acorn PLC inputs are current-sourcing. This means that you have +24VDC wired to the ...

Re: Touch probe

The probing cycles, under F5/Probe on the Part Setup screen, are primarily for measurement and inspection. They locate the feature, then tell you the location and size that they found. All of those probing cycles except F7/Single Axis can also be used for setting your X and/or Y part zero location, ...

Re: CNC12 Software cycle start disabled

There are good uses for inversion, especially in the home/hobby market where customers insist they should be able to use what they have (e.g. normally-open prox sensors in place of limit switches) instead of having to buy something more appropriate. The PLC program's "native" behavior, tho...

Re: CNC12 Software cycle start disabled

Depending on context, "normal" is either the condition of the contacts when you take the device out of its packaging and set it on your desk; or it is the condition of the contacts when the device is installed in the machine, and the machine is idle and ready to run. The first scenario is ...

Re: Can Centroid Control this?

Heidenhain does make signal converters. If I recall correctly, IBV100 and IBV600 series are for voltage-mode sine/cosine signals; and EXE100 and EXE600 series are for current-mode sine/cosine signals. However, those signal converters are generally more expensive than a basic rotary encoder, so they ...

Re: Can Centroid Control this?

Hmm. Five-axis machine, and there in your picture are five connectors that look like Heidenhain M23 12-pin feedback plugs. Each plug bringing in nine wires, including four twisted pairs consistent with Heidenhain position feedback (BLU+RED, YEL+GRN, GRY+PNK, WHT+BRN). Because it is Heidenhain, there...

Re: Can Centroid Control this?

Can Oak run without this encoder feedback? No. Neither can Heidenhain, unless all it does is move back and forth between limit switches. What exactly is a "Gate machine"? If the Heidenhain control had a DRO position display, and the ability to move to programmed positions, then there is p...

Re: Acorn won't run g code/mdi < lathe G98/G99?>

His Ahha programs will not run without some changes.

G90 is not appropriate there. All X and Z coordinates are absolute by default.

"F8" looks like an inches-per-minute feedrate. To use that, you need a G98 code.
